I loved photographing this sweet family in their own space to celebrate their little guy turning 6 months. He even fell asleep during our session which I didn't mind one bit. Happy 6 months Asher man!

Whew! I am super behind on blogging this fall's sessions but I wanted to post this family's sweet session from September since we have his 6 month session next week! Oh my stars. I hadn't seen little Ms. Piper since she was a bitty newborn and my goodness what a doll she is. Her mama and daddy were going on about what a sweet and precious baby she is and how she makes everyone around her smile and they were absolutely right. She lit up the room. So thankful to get to see this sweet family again. They've been with me since the very beginning and for that I am so so grateful. Enjoy these little snapshots of the love they share. <3
I can't say enough how much I have loved getting to know this family over the past couple of years. I first met them when we did a maternity session for their first son, then his birth and the rest is history. I've photographed them several times and I always love getting to spend time with them. I love seeing parents blossom into motherhood and fatherhood and as special as it is to see and spend time with a first time mom, I adore seeing a mother settle into motherhood with more than one child. It totally changes the dynamics of your family and stretches you in new ways. Your heart grows with even more love than you knew you had in you. Before I share this beautiful newborn session with you today, I want to share my thoughts on why I love this session so much. I have ALWAYS been drawn to lifestyle newborn photography. Even from the very beginning of my business, it's really what I wanted for my newborn work. If you aren't sure what that is, to me, lifestyle is the art of capturing more honest, natural, emotive images. For the most part, that's always what I've done. And those are always the newborn sessions I love the most. Don't get me wrong. I have so much respect for newborn photographers that can pose a baby with props in all sorts of positions. It takes mad skills! But more and more, I just know that's not me. This is me. This session right here. Just hanging out with this family for a few hours. Watching them interact and capturing all those sweet details. These are the sessions that make me excited. It's exactly the way I want to capture families. This family is so incredibly special to me because they were sweet enough to take a chance on me in the very beginning. Before I even officially had a business, they were one of my first portfolio building clients. I am so thankful for them for trusting me again to capture their family during such a special time in their lives. I can honestly say, I always have the very best time hanging out with them. These two little ones are very blessed to be in such a sweet and loving family. Congrats Levenson family!

Out of all my Christmas sessions this year I only had 2 new clients (because my previous clients snatched these sessions up so quickly :) ) and this sweet family was one of those. I am so glad I got to photograph them because they were just such a joy to be with. Their boys were so sweet and I immediately hit it off with mom. I love seeing my BSP babies grow! Sweet Caroline is a Christmas baby and I got to photograph her for the first time as a newborn, you can see that here. I've completely fallen in love with their family and I just felt instantly connected to her mama the first time we met. You know those people you are just completely comfortable around as soon as you meet them? Yep, that's her mama. I am so glad I've been able to photograph them over the past two years and see this sweet girl grow. Merry Christmas Hunt Family!

Oh my goodness how I love this family and if you know them, you do too. They were some of my very first clients and I have been able to photograph them many times and I am so happy to say that they have become much more than clients, but treasured friends. Lexi and I have connected through motherhood and I love that the Lord has brought us together to pray for and encourage one another. I was so glad we got to do a family session this year with them at the Christmas tree farm. This crew always keeps me laughing and this session was no exception. Oh my goodness how I love this family. They are so special to me because they were my very first clients. Fall is my favorite and busiest time of year and one of the reason I love it so much is because I get to meet so many new and wonderful families. This family is the perfect example. They were so sweet and easy to photograph. Their love for their sweet baby girl is all over their faces. I loved hearing mom at our session keep saying to her daughter "I could just eat you up with a spoon!" I totally know the feeling and I love seeing that love come through in photographs. Our session was a little different because shortly in the sky grew very dark and scary and we ended up running for the cars! We met back up the very next night to finish our session but I love how we got this beautiful dramatic light the first night and a gorgeous sun filled session the very next night. I get asked all the time what is my favorite thing to photograph and besides my own family, it would have to be families. I have truly fallen in love with family photography. Maybe it's because I'm a mother with a young family and I know how good, wonderful, crazy and hard these days are. And how I want to remember how special they were with all my heart. Every time I'm with a family I feel like there is so much there for me to capture. So much connection, so many emotions, especially with little ones. ha! And I'm so thankful that I'm at a place where I am attracting the clients that get what I do and want me to do what I do, which is to put all those wonderful elements into photographs, even if that doesn't mean everyone looking at the camera with perfect smiles. So, for that I thank you.
Now to this wonderful family. I've been able to photograph this sweet family several times and I've also been privileged to shoot births with Alissa because she is a doula with Open Heart Doula, which is really an incredible group of women who have some of the most beautiful servants hearts and have such a passion and love for mothers.
