I love how they show off the beautiful lines of a pregnant woman's body. Silhouettes are such a timeless, classic way to document this stage in life. Happy Father's day to all you Daddy's out there! We are so blessed to have Aaron as the head of our home. He is a wonderful husband and loving father. We celebrate him today and are so thankful for all he does for our family. I am also so thankful for my own Daddy who has always loved and cherished us. For him, I am so grateful. I couldn't have asked for a better Daddy growing up. And my grandfathers. My Papaw and my Pawpaw (in heaven) both love their family with all their hearts. I am so blessed to have such Godly men in my life.
There's this litte spot where a bunch of wild flowers grow in our neighborhood and everytime I drive by there, I can just see my Ellie playing in the flowers so yesterday we took a little walk and did just that. Today she turns 18 months so I thought it would be great to do some portraits of her. Listen, I know she's mine and maybe I'm a smidge biased but I'm pretty sure she's the prettiest little thing ever! I can't believe she's already 18 months. She is such a sweet blessing to our family and we are so honored that God gave her to us. Love you baby girl...

Several months ago I got to do Ms. Lily's newborn session and recently I got to visit with her again and update a session with her and her 3 beautiful older sisters. I even convinced her momma to sneak in on a few. :) I love getting to update sessions with families and see how they've grown and changed. These girls are the perfect combination of sweet + sassy! It was so fun getting to spend some time with you guys again. Enjoy your photos!
This morning, a few minutes after Daddy left for work we heard him beeping his horn in the driveway. He had returned home with this little guy. And seriously, it is like Christmas in June around here. My kiddos have been giddy all day. Sadly, for them (but not for Mr. Turtle) he got away while we went in for lunch. Get ready to gush.....because this little doll is incredibly adorable! I was lucky enough to get to photograph little Lily + a few shots of her big brother Luke at her 9 month session last week and we had such a great time. Lily was so happy the whole time. I'm looking forward to getting to know this family more in the future! Hope you enjoy these sweet photos!
I've got some seriously, sugary sweetness to share with you today. Last week I got to do a newborn session for the Lewis family. You may remember their maternity session here. Little Miss Audrey was such a dream baby at our session and as you can see her Momma and Daddy are completely smitten with her. Congrats Lewis family!
I love 6 month old babies! They are just so much fun to photograph. Rolly Polly smiley, and if you're lucky, a little sitting up. I had the best time at this little guy's session. He had me rolling around all over the ground with him at his session to capture his sweetness. Thankfully, his momma and I spent a little time chatting and catching up afterwords and right as everyone was about to leave, the sun came out and we got some last minute shots with the yummiest, golden light. This afternoon I had a session canceled due to a crazy pop up thunderstorm. It came out of no where! Black clouds, high winds and rain. It didn't take us long to realize this was no environment for a 9 month old, so I went on home. Of course though, about 30 minutes after I got home we had the most gorgeous and beautiful light outside so I decided to take the kiddos outside and have a little family session of our own. I couldn't help but think of those who were affected yesterday in Oklahoma by those devastating storms. I felt overwhelmed with the fact that my family is safe and here with me tonight and we can sleep in our own house. We are praying for those who don't have this luxury tonight and praying that the God of all comfort will be their refuge in this time of need.

A while back I got to photograph Sarah Crawford and her beautiful baby bump. You can see that here. And I am so excited today to get to share the Crawford family's newborn session. Baby R is such a sweet, cute, cuddly bundle and he seems to fit right into this busy family. He is so blessed to be a part of this wonderful family, with a Momma who loves him, a Daddy who adores him and three older siblings to show him the ropes. Congratulations Crawford family! I can't think of a more appropriate time to post this birth story than today to kick off Mother's Day weekend. I got to meet Leigh and her husband Scott last week at the birth of her son. Scott was such a sweet and supportive husband during Leigh's labor. Baby S took his time getting here, but when he decided to make his entrance he came fast! Birth is so unpredictable, and after an intense delivery, Leigh and Scott got to settle in and enjoy their sweet new baby boy. Congratulations Wilson family! Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of documenting this day for you!

I love to photograph births. LOVE it. It is such an amazing miracle and I seriously feel so privileged to get to be there and document this incredible milestone. Last week I was blessed to be a part of two births and this is the first one. I met Krista and Geoff in the thick of labor and she did so amazing! Krista had a great support team. Her doula is Rachel Chandler with Open Heart Doula. She was also my doula at my last birth so I just loved getting to work with her at this birth. As you can see, she is amazing at what she does! Geoff was just the sweetest most encouraging husband you could ever imagine. He was rubbing her feet, getting her drinks, praying for her and encouraging her and even putting her chapstick on for her. He was awesome! Baby J is a very lucky little guy to have such loving and wonderful parents. Congrats Krista and Geoff! Enjoy this precious time with your new family.

I really enjoying getting to know other young families that are in a similar stage of life that my own family is in. I recently got to meet the Rice family and their 3 sweet little girls. We had so much fun and I felt right at home chasing around their little ones and clicking away. Enjoy this busy, exhausting, joy filled, wonderful stage in life! If you know the Crawford family, I know you love them. I have been lucky enough to know them and to have gotten to serve with them in my church and their daughter is one of our favorite babysitters. So I was thrilled to photograph Sarah and her sweet bonus baby bump! Sarah is absolutely beautiful and we had such a great time catching up on life and motherhood. I am so excited for this family and can not wait to photograph this precious little one when he makes his arrival very soon! Update! You can see Sarah's newborn session here.

I got the idea from another photographer momma friend to do a quick 2 minute portrait session with my kiddos to snap several different expressions no matter what they are and putting them together to have a little snippet of my little one's personalities. I love to photograph newborns and this little boy was especially special because I got to see and document his arrival into this world just last week. I have loved getting to know this very special family. This baby boy was a dream for me. He slept the whole time during our session and was so precious. There is nothing as sweet as a newborn baby. Enjoy this time Trusty family. You will always remember these snuggles, yawns and precious little smiles during these days. They go by so quickly! Enjoy!

I am so excited to share this beautiful family session with you today. I had so much fun with this wonderful family this week. I have recently gotten to know Alissa because she is a doula with Open Heart Doula service. I am teaming up with this incredible group of women to offer birth photography services and got to work directly with Alissa just last week when I photographed the Trusty family's birth. So of course I was so excited when Alissa asked me to take family photos for them. This family is so much fun and full of energy! I feel so fortunate to get to be photographing all these beautiful pregnant women lately. I think pregnant women are so gorgeous and my friend Sarah is no exception. I met up with Sarah and her husband Marshall this weekend to document this precious time in their lives as a family. They had me cracking up our whole session.
