I love this family because I always feel so comfortable and right at home with them. Mama even texted me before our session to tell me to bring Reid with me if I needed to in case I needed to nurse him. Even though I didn't bring him, I thought that was such a sweet and thoughtful thing to do for a fellow new mama. That's just the kind of family this is and this baby girl is so blessed to be a part of it. Happy 8 Months Caroline! I can't believe the next time I photograph you, you'll be a year old!
I got to meet this sweet family at their maternity session several weeks before the birth of their baby girl and I always love that because it makes our newborn session so comfortable. I felt right at home with this sweet family. Little Ms. S is so very loved! Congrats Parker Family! I'm so excited to get to see this little one grow over the course of this next year. :)

A little peek from this morning's session...
I love photographing newborns for so many reasons but one of those is connecting with other moms. I had such a great time getting to know this mama and her sweet family during this little guys session. And a bonus for me was that she was a brand new mother of 3 so I got to pick her brain on how it was going since I was near the end of my pregnancy with our third at the shoot. :) Congratulations Mollenhour family! Your family is precious and it was wonderful getting to spend the afternoon with you all. Blessings!
Here's a little sneak peek of yesterday's newborn session....
I can’t believe that as I’m writing this my sweet little third baby is already almost a month old! Reid Matthew Sams was born on July 13th, 2014 at 5:37pm weighing 9lbs 7oz and 21inches long! He was a big guy! He has been such a blessing to our family already. We didn’t decide his name until we saw him and it means “redheaded gift from God.” And boy does he ever have red hair! Beck is completely smitten with him and is continually covering him with hugs and kisses. Ellie likes him too but she’s not as into him as big brother Beck. ;) Everyone told me this, but there really is just something about the third baby. I guess it’s because I’m so much more relaxed about things this time around. And I know how quickly these days go by. I am enjoying every single second with him and I want to remember every detail. Time with him is FLYING. I can’t believe he’s almost a month old. Don’t get me wrong, I am super busy with three little ones and my hands are full but so are our hearts. If you remember from this post, I had said that I felt like the Lord was promising me that Reid would be a help and a blessing to our family, well, He did not disappoint. God has certainly fulfilled His promise by blessing us with him! I can’t wait to see the little man God has designed him to be.
I knew it would be quite a challenge to do my own newborn photos. Let’s just say that Reid is a pretty big fan of mommy and if I’m anywhere near him he wants to be in my arms, which is fine except when I’m trying to photograph him. So, most of my images of him are snapshots into our life rather than posed images. These are the ones I love anyways so I’m ok with that. :) If you follow me on Facebook, you’ve already seen quite an overload of our new love. But get ready, because I just couldn’t narrow these down any more. Here are some shots from our first few weeks with Reid. Enjoy!
Can’t believe that this little guy will be one of my first clients to photograph when I come back from my maternity leave and it will be for his ONE YEAR session! Crazy. He get’s cuter each time I see him and I love hanging out with his family. I know this is super late but happy 9 Months Hudson!
I loved this newborn session. I was able to photograph this family for their maternity and birth photos so I felt super comfortable and at ease around them for their session. Not to mention, they have a beautiful home and capturing their obvious love for their little guy was not hard at all. :) I am so happy for you guys to enter into this amazing and blessed stage in the life of your family. Congrats to this sweet new family!
I’m a little behind on blogging but telling myself that’s ok since I won’t be shooting for clients for the next month or so during my maternity leave, this way I’ll still have lots of awesome sessions to share with you guys ;). Today I’m sharing Ms. Audrey’s one year session with you. Audrey is my first little one that I’ve been able to follow since her mama was carrying her in her belly. After that we did newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and now her one year portraits. I feel so blessed to have been able to document each one of these milestones during her first year. She is precious and I look forward to seeing her grow into a beautiful little lady after God’s heart. Love you guys, Lewis family!
It has been FOREVER since I did a personal blog post and I thought our beach trip would be the perfect thing especially since I won’t be prego for much longer so I better get these “maternity” pictures of me posted. :) This year has been really great. It’s been very challenging but really good for me. Every time I’m pregnant, I feel like the Lord takes me through a refining process and this pregnancy has been no exception. He has been molding me and shaping me. Revealing things to me about my mothering and even just personally that I have needed to turn over to Him. I love the Lord for that. It’s not easy but it’s necessary. Even though I know we’re about to enter into another crazy season of life by adding a new little one to our family, I feel like the Lord has told me over and over that he will be a blessing and a help to us. Recently, He has comforted me with this verse…. “Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplications! The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him” Psalm 28:6-7. I am so thankful that He hears me (us) when we cry out to Him! This mommy gig is no joke and I need the Lord EVERY day! I am thankful that He is my help! Our family is notorious for having bad experiences with vacations. From passport issues to really bad illnesses, I was pretty sure we would never go on another vacation. And if you have little ones, let’s face it, vacation is just not quite as relaxing as it used to be :). But thankfully, we decided to put all that aside this year and accept any craziness that came our way. I am so glad we did because we had the best time together. We swam and ate and played, rode bikes, took long walks on the beach, looked for crabs and made lots of wonderful memories together. I left feeling refreshed as a wife and mother and even a photographer. I really enjoyed focusing on shooting just my family and in a new environment.
If you’re here for the pictures just keep scrolling! haha! I just wanted to share one more thing. I am so thankful to all my clients for supporting me as an artist. I really just love getting to do this and have gotten to meet some really great people. I’ve loved all my past clients and I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new families already this fall. If you are wanting some fall photos, be sure to contact me soon because my fall schedule is already almost completely booked. Again thank you for everything. We are enjoying relaxing and enjoying one another these last few days as a family of 4 before we meet our little guy. There will be lots of shares of him when he gets here!
Oh my goodness how this little one has grown! I was completely in love with his little fuzzy head at our session. We had such a great time + perfect weather for this family’s 8 month session. Happy 8 months Everett! Can’t believe the next time I see you it will be for your 1 year session!!!
I love getting to spend time with new moms. It is such a sweet and special time when you are learning so much. And I loved getting to know this momma. We got to know each other a bit at their maternity session and these parents were so excited then to meet their little one. It’s not hard to see that they are completely and totally in love with this little guy. Congratulations Casey family! Cooper is a very blessed little guy!
I love it when I get to photograph a family before their newborn session. I met the Gandy family early this spring when we did some 2 year portraits for Ms. Lauren. It always makes our newborn session so much more comfortable and relaxed. This session was so sweet and comfortable. I had such a great time watching them interact and spend time with their new baby. It was completely obvious how in love this family is with each other. That always makes my job pretty easy. :) Congrats Gandy family! Your sweet little bundle is so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful + loving family.
Whew! trying to get caught up on some blog post from the past month or so and I wanted to share this sweet baby session tonight. Baby Ellie is 8 months old and she is a completely adorable smiley little princess. I had so much fun with this sweet family again! Enjoy Lezatte family!
