I love photographing this family because I always feel right at home with them. Watching these two love on their boys is the sweetest thing. <3
This fall I got to meet the most lovely new family. I knew I was going to hit it off with them when mama told me in her questionnaire that my photos were 'like a good country song, beautiful and tell a good story.' :) I'll take that! haha! I have truly never met a more relaxed and natural new mom and dad. They seemed so comfortable and perfectly at home with this brand new little gift, as if she'd always been a part of them. Another favorite aspect of this family's session for me was that when they contacted me to do their session, they let me know they were in the process of building a home so they were temporarily living in their garage apartment. She wanted me to know there would be no perfectly decorated nursery and this was definitely a transition for their family but she trusted me to make it work. And let me tell you, it worked. Although their space was still beautiful, in my opinion, that is not what makes a great session. They had all the right elements in place. Each other, and the love that binds them.
This family is so special to me because they've been with me since the beginning of my business and I have always felt creative freedom with them. Since their very first session, they've allowed me to stretch my wings as an artist and it has truly been an honor to photograph them and watch their family grow throughout the years. <3
It's time again for this months 10 on 10 lifestyle blog circle. I am so thankful for this circle of crazy talented women. Every month I am reminded to share some of my favorite image and here lately this has been the only way I've shared personal images on my blog so I'm so grateful to be a part of this circle. Plus these ladies are crazy talented. Follow your way around the circle after viewing my images by starting with my friend Charlotte's gorgeous Autumn post.
This month was busy for us because of my business ramping up for the fall season but we managed to steal away several times as a family and enjoy each other and friends and family. So thankful for these days with my family. Hope you guys are having a great Autumn and season of Thanksgiving!
Give me all the gorgeous, sunlit, at home on the farm sessions with chickens. haha! But seriously, I have had the pleasure of photographing this family in their own space for several years now and their sessions are always favorites of mine. Mama always tells me to just come and do my thing. She always tells me she's gonna just let the girls just be how they always are and in my opinion, there's no better way to be. :)
It is such a sweet honor to me to be invited into a family's home to photograph them as they've just welcomed in a new little one. It's an adjustment for everyone. Finding a new balance, a new rhythm, adjusting to little sleep, sharing mommy, sharing daddy. But my oh my, the beauty that lies within this precious and fleeting time. Inevitable growth and immeasurable grace. What a gift. Thank you Noll family for trusting me to capture these sweet moments for you. Blessings!
I am so excited to finally blog! I have so many gorgeous sessions from this fall to share with you and I'm going to start tonight with this beautiful family. They are as sweet as they come and I always love getting to spend time with this family.

I can't believe another month has passed since out last 10 on 10! Aaron and I are always saying you have no idea how fast time flies until you have children and begin to watch them grow. Seriously though! This past month has been really been a lot of fun in our house. We had our first over night trip as a family of 6 on a mini vacation, had several fun homeschool field trips and have FINALLY begun to welcome fall. The weather is beginning to cool down and the leaves are beginning to change. I started taking clients again regularly since having Corinne, so once again our family is adjusting to a new rhythm. I certainly don't juggle all these things well most days. At best, it's some sort of organized chaos over here. Our house is usually a mess and the laundry is always piled high. But I feel our home is filled with love and laughter and so much Grace upon Grace upon Grace. And for us, that's what we can handle right now. We're thankful for Jesus and each other, Amen. haha! Thanks so much for coming over to my blog to see some of my favorite images from this month.
Head on over to my friend Kristi Burton's blog to see her 10 on 10 this month. Her post is filled with beautiful fall images and her adorable family.
I had the best time photographing this sweet family last month to kick off my fall season. Kristen is a photographer herself at Overbay Photography and when she contacted me she told me how she wanted to be fully present with her children at her session since she's always the one behind the camera. I can totally relate to that! I am so happy I got to document this sweet time with your lovely family Overbays! Enjoy these precious photos. <3
Although the weather is still hot here in TN, this past month has certainly felt like the season is changing. We started our second year of homeschool with Beck starting 1st grade and Ellie in Pre-K. We are definitely getting into our grove as a family of 4. Bringing Corinne into our family has been for sure our smoothest transition. I think it's a combination of her being a very easy, laid back baby and our family embracing the craziness with a lot more grace than we used to. :) She is crazy, madly loved. Our three older children argue over who's going to hold her, cry when they think she's hurting, and rush into her room when it's time to get her up from naps. We are so thankful that God saw fit to give her to us and to shepherd all of these little hearts.
For this months 10 on 10, I decided to go monochrome. I've had a crush on black and white images lately so I thought I'd do a whole blogpost of them documenting some of my favorites from this past month. Be sure to make your way around this talented circle of ladies by heading over to my friend Kristi's blog, who has the most adorable little girl, and see how she documented her family this month.

Happy 6 months little Luke! You are so loved!
I hadn't seen this sweet family since mama was expecting this little one, so it was great to catch up with them and see how parenthood was going and see this sweet little thang. I think they're handling things pretty well don't you? <3
What a blessing to photograph this precious family's newborn session a few weeks ago. We met last fall at their first session with me just days after I had found out I was pregnant with Corinne and when they didn't yet know that they were pregnant with their 2nd little one. We usually spend lots of time just chatting about parenthood and Jesus at our sessions. Ha! Thankfully, they were happy for me to bring Corinne to their home for their newborn session since she was so little, their home that they JUST moved into. I loved that they just wanted me to document this beautiful season no matter what. I have absolutely loved getting to know this sweet family. Jessica shares these words with us about her family...
I am so thankful for these pictures of my sweet babies as our family grows! I want to remember them just as they are in every stage. I have always been the type of person who mourns things easily. Last day of school? I was in tears. Friend moving away? I'm a wreck. The speed with which my babies are growing literally brings me to tears much more often than it probably should. It really does go sooooo fast. This time three years ago I had no children and was not pregnant, and here I sit with an almost two year old and newborn. But it is all so sweet!
I want to always remember these days- my daughter's cute little voice and the funny things she is starting to say, or the way my son's tiny hand will find me as he falls asleep on my chest. I know that my husband and I will recount these days as some of the good ole days. I have always wanted to be a mom and have dreamed of a big family all of my life. The Lord has been so gracious to entrust these children to us. As I look at these pictures I am overwhelmed with His love for me in allowing us to experience and take part in shepherding these sweet babies.
Congratulations Geist family!
This summer has been so much fun at our house. I have always wanted a pool. Our kids love to be in the water. It has taken me 3 years to convince my husband to let us get a little temporary, super classy ;) above ground pool for the kids, and this year I finally succeeded. Yes! This thing has brought our little family so much joy and good times together for the past month so I wanted to do this months 10 on 10 post of images in and around our pool. Make sure you make your way around the circle by heading over to my talented friend Allison of Poetry and Prose Photography's post. :)
If you know this family, you love them. Pat and Gianna moved to Knoxville and started ministering to our church through worship right before they got married about 3 years ago. They are both incredibly talented and have become so precious to our family. It has been such a blessing to see them enter into parenthood with such grace and to see their hearts explode with love when they look at their sweet little Norah. Congratulations Kicks! I knew you guys would rock parenthood and it has been so fun to see you guys blossom into this new season. We love you guys!
This family. Oh my stars.
They contacted me to photograph them since they were expecting their third baby. Another precious girl who would complete their family. They hadn't had family pictures in years and really wanted to remember how special this time was together. You guys. This Daddy. He was made to be the daddy to girls. He was also a photographers dream family session dad. haha! He was so sweet with his girls and telling them how pretty they looked and helping fix their hairs that might be out of place. And when I took mom's photos, he kept telling her how beautiful she was. It was seriously one of the sweetest sessions I've ever been a part of. I am so honored that this sweet family chose me to photograph them this spring. Congratulations Olinger family. What a blessed little girl to be a part of your precious family. <3
I just love getting to watch a family grow. When you have your first baby and you experience love like you've never know before, it's hard to believe that our hearts and love can expand even more as our family grows, but it does! In new and beautiful ways. Seeing your baby become a big brother and seeing them fall in love with their sibling is one of the sweetest things on this earth. I loved documenting this sweet family's newborn session for them and seeing them as they experience this very thing. A brand new love. Congrats Martin Family!
I can't believe my Reidy is 2. Even though you aren't the baby of our family any more, for some reason you still feel so little to me. Maybe that's because you were created to need more snuggles than your siblings and we spent LOTS of time holding each other this past year. You light up our family with your sweet smile. You take being carried around and told what to do by your older siblings really well and now we are getting to see you grow into your newest role in our family....being a big brother. I've seen a new gentleness come over you as you spend time with Corinne. I am so thankful to be your mama and am so excited to see the little boy God grows you into.
Happy Birthday baby, Mama
I can't believe it's been a month already since our last 10 on 10! This month has just flown by but that's probably because we've been busy! Our summer days have been filled with swimming lessons, reading, blackberry picking, lizard catching, staying up past bedtime to see lighting bugs and eating popsicles. Not gonna lie, mama is tired but I'm so thankful for these days. Thankful for a house that's full of love, forgiveness and grace upon grace, cause Lord knows we need it around here. Continue on around the circle to see my friend Emma's post. Enjoy!
I absolutely love photographing a family as they become parents for the first time. The love that is literally beaming out of them is unmatched. I had the privilege of meeting this sweet family several weeks ago at their maternity session and then just recently after they had their sweet girl. I love this mama's words as she reflected on the past few weeks as a new mother.....
"I was so nervous and unsure of myself when we brought Anniston home from the hospital. I had no idea what I was doing. My grandmother told me that all a baby needs at first is to be changed, to be fed, and to be loved. So I changed her when she needed to be changed, fed her when she needed to be fed (no matter what time of day or night :)), and I loved her fiercely. Soon it felt like I had been doing this mom thing for forever.
No one can prepare you for motherhood. No one can prepare you for the loss of sleep and the uncertainty that comes with taking care of a baby, and no one can prepare you for the immeasurable amount of love that you feel for a tiny little person. I have only been a mother for a short time, but I am already certain that being Anniston's mom is my greatest accomplishment. She is such an undeserved blessing and has shown me a love that cannot be described, only felt."
Congratulations Birtsch Family! Anniston is so blessed to be a part of your family! <3
